Miri Wetherlite

Miri Wetherlite is a young half-elven woman in Argentum who bakes at Vada's Otherworldly Goods, a pastry stall at the Canal Markets, and also works at Sterling Outfitters & Expeditionary.¹² Her own pastry stand burned down at the Festival of Bells in 1714 PSF.³² Rhysaene painted its sign, which read “Magnificent Treats”.³

Description

Appearance

A young woman with shoulder-length, greenish dirty-blonde hair, pointed ears and darker olive skin.²

Personality

Miri repays kindness. She knew Temerity at once as one of the people who had pulled others out of the festival fire, and saved Rhysaene one of Vada’s vanilla buns, which cost two crowns, to thank her.² She is honest with customers: at Sterling Outfitters she talked Rhysaene out of paying twelve crowns for a heavier shield and sold her one for eight.¹ She loves to bake. Working two jobs to save for a stall of her own again, she is glad to be “getting paid to do what I love”.²

Miri’s stand was one of several that caught fire when the Everfire Lamp erupted.³

Rhysaene showed the party the sign she had painted for Miri’s stand, among the rest of her work.⁴

Session 5

Miri was working the door at Sterling Outfitters & Expeditionary on the morning of 26 Coldrise, 1714 PSF, greeting customers in a green and silver uniform, when Rhysaene came in for a shield.¹ Before her smile came up, Rhysaene caught something sad and ashamed on her face, and Miri apologized for what had happened to the sign Rhysaene made her.¹ She talked Rhysaene out of paying twelve crowns for an all-metal shield, which would only be heavier, and sold her one for eight.¹ She asked Rhysaene to lunch sometime. Rhysaene said she would make her another sign, and Miri said she had no cart to put it on.¹

Session 9

By 29 Coldrise, 1714 PSF, Miri was working at Sterling Outfitters & Expeditionary, which Rhysaene suggested as a place Hazel might find work.⁵

Session 19

On the morning of 9 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, Miri was working at Vada’s stall when Temerity came to buy breakfast. She had just opened her own stand at the festival, with all her money in it, and lost everything when it burned. Vada had tried her funnel cakes a couple of days before and hired her on the spot.² She asked Temerity to carry a note to Rhysaene, having held it for days without knowing where Rhysaene lived.² That evening the party came to the stall, and Miri gave Rhysaene a vanilla bun she had baked herself, though Vada would not tell her the recipe for the vanilla.² She still worked at the Sterling Expeditionary on her other days, and spent her days off from it at Vada’s stall.² She and Rhysaene arranged to meet for drinks at the Dancing Sword, her favorite place, on the 12th, and when Rhysaene winked at her, she blushed and smiled.²
