Rhysaene's Apartment

Rhysaene’s apartment in Argentum is more of a little townhouse, on the ground floor, and is Rhysaene’s home.¹ It is an incredibly nice apartment, the kind it takes money to live in, and it came to her as a hand-me-down.¹ She has lived there for a few years, and alone for about the last one.¹ Iva has been staying with her, and by Nightdeep 1714 PSF the rest of the party had moved in too.²³

Description

The entryway is full of paintings, and Rhysaene has a little art studio.¹ Her bed, strewn with plushies, is lower to the ground than usual, suited to a centaur.¹ In the living room is a round rug, a very soft green shag made to look like a grassy meadow, heaped with fur blankets, where Iva sleeps.¹ There is a pantry off the dining room, a bathroom with doors on two sides, and a big walk-in closet, where Temerity has been sleeping.³ Every room has a window but the bathroom and the closet.¹

Several hidden compartments are set into the walls, among them a panel behind a painting in the entryway. Rhysaene has known of them since Lathiel was alive.¹

The bedroom window looks out over a little plaza park with grass and trees, and past it a main road and the canals.²¹

History

Session 14

A woman calling herself Daisy came to the door on the night of 1 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, asked for a ledger, and attacked Rhysaene in her bedroom.²

Session 15

Daisy escaped through the bedroom window, breaking it.¹ The next day Luma mended it with mending, leaving no sign it had been broken, and the party staked out the apartment that night. Daisy did not come back.¹

Session 16

The party stayed at the apartment from 3 to 6 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF.⁴ With time on her hands, Luma oiled the hinges and refinished the furniture.⁴ On the night of 6 Nightdeep Rhysaene set out beds for everyone.⁴

Session 17

The party woke there on 7 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, and Rhysaene, Luma and Hazel cast Luma’s scroll of locate object together. It showed Lathiel's ledger in the Footlight Theater, 940 feet away.⁵ They waited there for Temerity that afternoon, and later brought the ledger back to read.⁵

Session 18

On 8 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, Temerity prayed on the living room floor and had a vision.³ From the moment she came home that day, Rhysaene felt a dread she could not explain, which faded through the evening.³ Luma cast locate object for the nearest dead body and found none in the house.³ That evening Rhysaene told the party that Lathiel had been a devil.³

Session 19

Temerity brought breakfast back to the apartment on 9 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, and Rhysaene finished Burning Fields there.⁶
