Vi Aroon

Vi Aroon is a human merchant in Argentum who owns the Spicy Brothers stall at the Canal Markets with his brother, Kasem Aroon.¹ He hosts the Aroon Family Pepper Challenge and is a member of the Canal Market Merchants Council.¹

Description

Appearance

A man who looks to be in his late twenties or early thirties, in fine red silk trimmed with gold and a green sash.¹ Kasem is basically identical to him.¹

Personality

Vi is warm with strangers. He greeted Luma by saying hers was not a face he knew and asking how he could be of service, answered all her questions about getting a stall, and offered to arrange a meeting with his brother.¹ He is a showman: he calls in the crowd for his pepper challenge with “Greet the heat”, and at its end threw his arms up and congratulated the winners boisterously.¹ He keeps to what is proper. He would not put in a good word for Luma before he knew her, and did not clap Hazel on the back with the other challengers after she had said not to touch her.¹

Biography

Session 19

On 9 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, Vi told Luma how the market’s council works, and that he would be retiring in a few weeks, leaving Kasem the sole proprietor.¹ Kasem said Vi was getting married, and wanted to spend time with his spouse and start a family.¹ That evening Vi hosted the pepper challenge, and Iva, Luma and Temerity tied for the win. It had been quite a while since a three-way tie.¹ Afterwards he told Iva that families fight sometimes, and that he had fought with his brother earlier, but that Lamai Tyenmo and Kusa Xungoon had never fought as badly as in the past few weeks, when strange mishaps had struck them both.¹ He was glad to hear Kasem was showing the party around, since Kasem would be taking over the business.¹
